TOEFL iBT

TOEFL is an acronym for Test Of English as a Foreign Language and is a standardized test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities. The test is administered by the US based testing body Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is accepted by more than 11,000 universities and other institutions in over 150 countries including the United States and Canada. The TOEFL iBT® test measures a test taker’s ability to use and understand English at the university level. More than 35 million people worldwide have taken the TOEFL® test to demonstrate their English-language proficiency.

The  TOEFL iBT® tests all four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking in an academic context.  iBT stands for internet Based Test, hence the test is an online exam, with all four sections including Speaking conducted online.
