GMAT

The Graduate Management Admission Test is a computer adaptive test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA program.

Skills Tested

The GMAT Exam Has Four Sections:

  1. Analytical Writing Assessment—measures your ability to think critically and to communicate your ideas. Your ability to think critically and to communicate your ideas through an essay in English is measured.
  2. Integrated Reasoning—The Integrated Reasoning section of the GMAT exam measures how well you integrate data to solve complex problems. With your target business schools interested in the development of future business leaders, one of the most important skills you can demonstrate is your ability to take in large amounts of data and make sound decisions.
  3. Quantitative Reasoning—The Quantitative Reasoning section of the GMAT exam measures your ability to reason mathematically, solve quantitative problems, and interpret graphic data. It consists of 31 multiple-choice questions. You will have 62 minutes to complete it.
  4. Verbal Reasoning—The Verbal Reasoning section of the GMAT exam measures your ability to read and comprehend written material, reason and evaluate arguments, and correct material to express ideas effectively in standard written English. It consists of 36 multiple-choice questions. You will have 65 minutes to complete it.

Structure of the GMAT Exam

The GMAT Exam has four separately timed sections. You will have the opportunity to take two optional eight-minute breaks during the exam.

The top business schools in the US and in Canada, and also selected top B schools in other countries, require candidates planning to enroll in the MBA program or DBA program to take GMAT and achieve a good score, usually above 600, with some requiring 700 plus out of a total of 800.

GMAT Exam Preparation at embark

Embark offers complete GMAT Exam Preparation for its students. The classes are conducted Online with live sessions for students from across the globe. The total course duration is 56 hours with 32 hours of Verbal (English) Preparation and 20 hours of Quantitative (Math) preparation. If a student chooses to just pursue only one of the modules – that is, either Verbal or Quantitative, that option is also available.

Students will be provided quality study materials and instructor handouts. Every student is expected to periodically take full-length diagnostic tests to better prepare for the exams. The trainer will regularly assess and monitor the performance of the student and will give guidance to further improve and be exam ready.

The class timings are flexible and lessons are either in small batches or One on One.
